NORTHUMBERLAND AND NEWCASTLE BOARD 0F EDUCATION Wednesday n . ht at 7:001 p.m. Knapps played in two exhi- bition encounters with Peter- borough and Oshawa Triple "AAA" clubs, losing to Oýsha- wa 4-1 and gaining a tie with Peterborough 4-4, both games played at the Bowmanville arena. In the Oshawa game, Rick McLean, John Bernacki, Brian Hovkins, and Mike Kawznuk scored the Oshawa goals, with Brad Godfrey tallying for Bowmanville, Ed Visser set up the play. The Bowmanville -club had the edge in play for most of the game, wîth Oshawa only being able to register 10 shots on the Bowmanvîlle goal. The oppor- tunities they did cash in on were no fault of th e Bowman- ville goalie as hie Was left unprotected on several occa- sions. In the game against Peter- borough, the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the second period, Dusseldorp and Farrow scoring for Bowman- ville, Simmons and Peters for the visitors. Knapps went ahead early in the third on a picture passing play, Ed Visser the marksman with Godfrey and Bain assist- ing. The "Petes" then jumped back into the lead with two quick goals, by Hewitt and Tulîy. Perry Johnston scored the tying goal for Bowman- ville in the third, taking a ba rd low shot from 20 feet out. The game was played a littie oth cippy" side for two prios u the teams settled down -in the third. 'OPetes" took sixteen minutes in oenal- ties to Bowmativille's 10 minutes. 1Don't forget this Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. for play-off hoceyai its best!
