Mrs. Gwen Farmer and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Roberts, Toronto were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dodd and on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Dane, Mrs. McKenzie and Mr. and Mrs. Hainswortb, Toroto visited witb the Dodds. Monday morning word from Oshawa Hospital, Intensive Care Unit, was that Mr. Jack Gibbs is satisfactory. The Sr. Boys age group 14-17 years, basebail team, was defeated by Enniskilien boys, Sunday afternoon. This was the final gamie of the playoffs and was played in Hampton. The three coaches, R. Bowers, Dave Johnston and Tom Thornton are to be congratu- lated and thanked for the time tbey have spent witb these boys. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hardy and Shane, Whitby, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Prescott. Rev. and Mrs. David North- ey and Angi, Dutton were Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Knowlton. Miss Debbie Miller recently left to begin studies at the University of Guelph. Sympathy of the community is extended to Mr. C. W. Woodley and family in the passing of his sister Miss Clara Woodley who passed away in Me1morial Hospital and was buried Saturday afternoon in Bethesda Cerne- tery. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown, Aylmer spent the w eekend wîth the E. A. Youngman family. Prizes went to Ed Harris, Edna Vivian, Judy Kovacs, Marjorie Vance, Bertha White and Carl Gimblett. On Tuesday evening the Elizabetbviile Women's Insti- tute met at Miss E. Carruth- er's borne. A goodly number attended. Mrs. H. Tbîckson, the president presided. Our meetings will be the first Tuesday afternoon of the month for the test of the year. The meeting was turned over to the Educational and Cul- tuîral Activities Convenor, Mrs. H. White. Mrs. G. Morris explained the Northumber- land County Restructuring Study wich some of the ladies attended in Port Hlope recent-- ly. Mrs. Eva Longyean gave us a detailed paper on their trip to Calgary in the summer. We, had a paper on the Plougbing MIatch. Most of the ladies prefered a visit instead of a game as tbey hadn't met since June. Next meeting Oct. 7 Mrs. H. Muldrew's group. Mn. and Mrs. D. Warener, Elaine and Karen, Califonnia anived by plane on Wednes- day to spend a week with ber parents Mr. and Mns. O. Mercer. Other visitons while they are bere were, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mercer, Montreal, Mn. Roy Beatty, Mn. and Mrs. J. Beatty, Toronto, Mr, and Mrs. R. Provost and Angie, Lindsay, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fajt, and famiiy, Pontypool as well ns several of the neighbors. Mn. and Mns. C. Mercer é spent last Sunday with Mn. and Mns. E.
