The meetinwa chaired by Mrs. Alice Sheffield and included three others from Presbytery, as, well as Chairman Ellen Farrow of Shiloh, and aine other local members of this Charge. A railing is to be buit on the stairs leading to the basement, otherwise every- thing is satisfactory and Mrs. Montgomery was codmpli- mented on the general appear- ance of good-housekeepmng. Mr. Wmn. Mason, of Trenton, was a recent visitor here with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Clysdale. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Býoughen returned home last Monday, atter an enioyable 14 days holiday in sunny Hawaii, where they also met their Newtonville neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Payne. We' are looking forward to seerng some of t h e interesting pic- tures taken in that part of the world. Mr. David Imlach spent a few days in Toronto last week, where he underwent treat- ment at the Shouldice Chnie. He, was able ta return home again on Sunday we are glad ta hear. Our first speaker, Thursday afternoon, at aur Senior Citizens' regular meeting was Mr. Cameron, Trustee on the Board of Education. H1e informed us that an inlterest- rnIg meetinýg wshe last uightand ta the trust'ees ar'e takýing a trip ta Port Lgin ta find out what grants they have obtained. No grants for Educational purposes will bie received from the Grounds Corporations. The township will pay the samne educational taxes, b ut they g et the grants and wýe pay theirsehool taxes. ýPrincipal Witherspaan joined aur meeting at 2 p.m. and gave us a resume of his earlier training in variaus fields - he's now completing bis 3th year as Principal. He explained the various changes in the educational system, the number of credits necessary ta, make one admissable ta .College, etc., also the duties of Guidance Counsellors and the individual time tables, now had, made by computers, etc. The Parital Semester method is advised. IL was encouraging ta, hear hlm champion the cause of the average teen- agers blamed too much in his opinion. The majority of them he thinks, are really good. 11e was thanked and given a hearty hand clap after which aur usual Coffee and Cookie break was enjoyed. "Happy Birthday" was sung in honor of Raymand Bruce's recent birthday. Visitors with Mrs., Bourg- erie on Saturday were Mrs. Allan Meadows, and Mrs. Eva Laking of Oshawa, and on Sunday Mr. atiNdMrs. jack Bracey of Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fletcher of Toronto were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Fletcher. Mr. Bart Ton and friend, Miss Betty Lon Currie of Toronto were Saturday visit- ors here with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ton. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hender- son returned home, Saturday evening framn three weeks holiday in the sunny south where they were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. R. Alldread. They visited Mexico, Texas, and Florida and mentioned in, particular the John. F. Ken- nedy Memorial in Dallas and the Houston Astrodome., Mr. and Mrs. E. Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Osborne Mr. and Mrs. Jan'Scuik ana Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Rundle were' in Toronto over the week-end staying at Sutton Place. Carolyn Gilmer and Sidney Lancaster greeted aur congre- gation, Sunday morning at the church doors, and handled out the Bulletins. Rev. Mont- g omery's tapic was "A Suri- day Morning Trinity," stress- ing the unity of the three - the Congregation, the Mmnister and the spirit of God Almighty. The junior choir sang "l'il be a Sunbeamn for Jesus," bringing back memories of by-gone days ta many of us aider mem e s - (we won't say just how many years ago)!1 The U.C.W. will meet in the Sunday School Hall, Wed. Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. Unit leader Bea Jones and her graup will be in chargeof the meeting.
