"Pete" Vipond said the signing of Simpson from Courice, took place hast week. Possessing one of the hardest slapshots in hockey, the riglit winger played his minor hockey with Bowmanville, Jr. A with Oshawa Generals, and recently has been with the WHA Toronto Toros, going to Edmonton Oilers and then to Springfield and Binghamp- ton. The game was then tied in the third period with Chris Beck scoring and Barry Oliver getting the assist. We really outplayed the opposition but were unable to find the opening,- outshooting the opposition 20 to 3. Defeat Pickering 5-0 On December lth the Novices played a strong game, in Pickering,- defeating them ,5-0. The defense of Michael Houston, Shawn Rekker, Bobby McArthur and'Barry Oliver played strongly pre- venting the. opposition from having one shot on goal.,The forward line of Larry Perris, Cory Sweet and David Fairey played very strong offensive hockey. Bowmanville opened the scoring in the second period with a goal by David Fairey with assists to Larry Perris and Shawn Rekker. Larry Perris came back to score with David Fairey getting the assist. In the third period David Fairey scored his second goal with assist going to Cory Sweet and Larry Perris. Then Brad Carnegie scored with assists going to Chris Beck and Glen Campbell.
