Two second period power play tallies put the Realtors up by 3. M~ark Luxton and Stan Greenham combined with Paul Reid for the first. Reids blazing slapshot from the point caught the top lef t hand corn~er of the net. Thirty-eight seconds later, Jody Ross flipped in a rebound for the score with Luxton and Ruddy assisting. Aurora boomed back with two goals before the second period ended. The Toros played a tight defensive thirçi period and Reid's second goal of the night ended Aurora's hopes with 23 Tourney, seconds remaining, on. the dlock. With the Aurora goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Reid trapped the puck at the Toro blueline and raced the iength of the ice to score. Markham stunned the Toros with a 2-1 overtime upset. The game was an exciting and well played affair which saw the Toros carry the edge in every department except the score- board. VanDyk's drew first blood as Greg Brunt scored midway through the first ramming home Bill Wrights rebound. The tally held until Markham tied the match with 3 minutes and 19 seconds left in the third period. VanDyks kept the pressure on in'the overtime but just like in the other periods they were thwarted by an exceptionally hot Mark- ham goalie. With 3 minutes and 2 seconds left in the first overtime, Markham connected for the tie breaker. Markham went on to the finals and were defeated 4-2 by Streetsville. Mercer spent a couple of days at St. Therese, Quebec, over the holiday. On Tuesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 29 the Walter Frank Toros took part in the Silver Stick Tournament in Bramealea. Their first opponent was the Flamboro Sabres. The Sabres opened the seoring at 2:38 of the first period. Paul Stocker broke the Sabre defence and shot a low drive in the goal, unassisted. Glen Gemman shot a re- bound bebind the Flamboro netminder, the shot was taken by Glen Mathews and the other assist went to Ron Hopcroft. First Period ends 2-1 A beautiful play by Tim Preston esulted in the Tomos third goal. Tim raced down the ice witb Paul Stocker on the rigbt side. After the goalie flopped to the ice, Tim passed the puck to Paul and he made no mistake and shot the puck bigb in the net. Second Period Ends 3-1 Billy McArtbur went in the net for the final framie, replacing Scott Bate. Shaugbn Houston jabbed a rebound behind the Sabre goalie to increase Bowman- ville's lead to 4-1, assisted by Mike Glass. Mike and Shaugbn teamed up again this time. Mike got the goal with Shaugbn Hous- ton and Danny Coombes assisting. Flamboro came back wîth two quick goals, only il seconds apamt, to put them within two goals., SbaugbnHouston put the Toros back on the right track wîth bis 2nd goal of the -game assisted by Mike Glass and Tim Preston, time 9:10. The Toros opened the scoring on Shaughn Houston's goal, assists going to Mike Glass and Steve Taylor. A shot from the point, hit a player standing in front of the net and the puck deflected off him and in the goal. First Period Ends 1-1 Streetsville goes ahead 2-1 and 9:49. Second Period Ends 2-1 Scott Batle played in net for final period. Trailing by a goal, Bowman- ville pulled their ' goalie in favor of an extra attacker,, but it backfired and Streetsville added their third goal of the game.
