Over the past year, the Army Cadet League of OJntario has seen a renewed interest in the. Cadet move- ment and an encouraging increase in the level of enrolîment. Our own local Cadet Corps is currently looking for young people, maie and female, between the ages of 13-18 inclusive, who might want to become involved in the manv activities Cadets offer. Brigadier General Forbes West, head of the Army Cadet Movement for Ontario, noted that young. people are often reluctant to joîn a cadet corps because they are misinformed as to what may be required of them. Joinîng a local corps does flot commit a cadet in any way to the Canadian Armed Forces, West said. He or she may leave the cadets at any time. As well, uniforms, summer camp, meals, excur- sions - in fact, every aspect of the Cadets program is provid- ed free of charge. Youngsters who join up with a local corps, before March 3lst are eligible for Cadet surnrer camp, West added. Courses in scuba diving, parachuting, photography, judo, etc., are available. Summer camps run for either two or six weeks. Ail cadets who attend camp receive a $10000 bonus at the end of the summer. Older cadets, that is. those students with several years experience wlîo are at least sixteen years old, may work as instructors during the summer. Their remuneration is in the region of $2000.00. Infcrested persons can contact their local groups (the numbers are listed in the telephone book) or call the Ontario Cadet Army League H-eadquarters for information at (416) 488-4342. & Son Photography Le hin Lies Bowling League Team Standings Sutchiffe 15 points, 23,642 pinfaîl, Edmondson 13 points, 21,988 pinfaîl, Bragg 13 points, 22,941 pinfaîl, Terry il points,, 22,640 pinfaîl, Buday il points, 22,208 pinfaîl, Etcher 9 Points, 22,022 pinfaîl. 1High single this week-C.
