YELVERTON M.Estel "Ike" Linden- berger M. Div. was back in the pulpit again on Sunday after 2 weeks holiday and with addition of letters behind his naine having acquired a Masters in Divinity this past week in his final year of studies with a commendable 78 per cent average. Hearty congrats are proferred on this occasion. Ike is scheduled to be ordained into the United Church ministry on Wednesday, May 3lst with eremonies to be held at the Timothy Eaton Memorial Centre in Toronto. The Sunday services the past two weeks were conducted by members of the Sunday School and U.C.W. respectively, each doing a fine job we're told. Nèxt Sunday is Family Day, Sunday (formerly' Mother's Day) when the latest crop of offspring are scheduled to be baptized with Rev. Elgu Joblin assisting Ike in this ceremony. Four infants are to be bapti.zed at Yelverton we understand. 1This charge is sorry to learn that Mr. Lindenberger is scheduled to leave this charge at the end of June having been drafted by the Aberta Confer- ence of a terni following ordination. On Sunday evening repre- sentation was present from Yelverton at the Variety Night sponsored by the Janetville United Church with proceeds going to their new piano,. Mr. Ray Robinson participated in the program as a member of the maie Quartet., It would appear that Spring weather is finally wth us. The succeed- ing Tuesday evening Janetville meets Pontypool at home at 8 p.m. Last week the Norman Wilsons were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Neals of Lakefield. Mr. and Mrs. James Gray were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Randy Longfield of Brampton on Sunday. The itinerary for the bus trip scheduled for May 3th was presented, this year to points of interest in Campbellford, Havelock and Peterborough.
