Education Week was observed at the local public school by "Open House" on Tuesday evening with a large attendance- who enjoyed an excellent program. Other observations of Education Week were viz-Music Night by Courtice Secondary School Band on Saturday evening in BHS auditorium as another super event with several local, students,, taking part and many interested parents and friends attending. Three presentations of operetta H.M.S. Pinafore by pupils of M.J. Hobbs Senior Public School on Thursday and Friday and Saturday evenings as well as UMJ. Hobbs, School Choir competing in the Oshawa Kiwanis Music ,Festival on Friday evening. The executive members from our area who attended the Oshawa Presbytérîal U.C.W. business meeting in Newcastle U.C. last Monday were Donna Johnston, Euna Killens, Marion Larmer, Jane Litt, Margaret Ashton. ...Churc hNew s The first Sunday in May was bright and beautiful and the church belîs- invitation sufficed to bring 70 folks for Sunday Services to join in worship as 3 rewards were received on Canadian Bible Society Sunday. As they sang from the Chancel steps the 10 members of the Intermediate choir with the leader Ulah Chambers gave an excellent message in music by the choir number "I went in Search of the Lord."
