On Sunday at Soper Creek' Park, the locals found themselves down by two runs after the first inning. In the second inning they came back to tie the score 2-2 on Jim Stacey's two run homner. The next four, innings proved to be scoreless as dim Stacey of Bowmanv ille and Claire Osborne of Oshawa pitched excellent bail. In the seventh inning, the Merchants went ahead 3-2 as Mike Corneil scored on John Campbell's well executed squeeze bunt. In the eighth inning, Claire Osborne scored for Oshawa to tie the game and Ken Toffan crossed home plate to give the visitors a 4-3 lead. In the last two innings, the Merchants couldn't muster a drive to overcome Oshawa, as the visiting club added two more runs in the ninth inning to finish with a 6-3 win. Bowmanville is now 2 wins and 3 losses on the season and will host the Newcastle Lakers this Sunday at Soper Creek Park. Game time is 2: 00 p. m.
