The Bowmanville area Student -Manpower Office opened its doors last month. It is Iocated at 9½ 2King St. East. The Canada Student Manpower office for the Bowmanville area opened at the beginning of Tuesday, May 23. David Sylvester, who is running the office again this year, reports that, so far, the situation looks about the same as ast year. Last year, the Bowmanville office made about 150 place- ments out of the 500 who registered. Also, this does not mean that 350 went without a job, for many ofthemn found jobs on their own. So far, the centre bas 200 students who have registered for work this summer and it is expected there wilh be many more after the high school students start on their summer holidays, , These students looking for work are one of two clients with which the manpower centre has to deal.
