Senior Citizens Picnic Mr. and Mrs. Everet Hanna, who have a trailer at Spring- water Trailer were hosts to a busý load of 30 Senior Citizens from "Sussex Place" Apart- ments, Lindsay for a pienie at the Park on Wednesday. Arriving about il a.m. they had a marvellous time until about 4 p.m. A chicken barbecue dinner was delivered to the group and picnic tables were laden with other goodies. The weather was ideal. Some enjoyed swimming in the spring-fed ponds, others played horse- shoe and a number visited the Pottery Plant which is adjacent to the Park. The time passed ail too quickly but it wili be a day to be long remembered. A day of out- door living at its best in a wooded setting beside a sparkling pond where, the birds are singing and the brook is bubbling and tumbling as it makes its way to the pond. Nestleton - Fort ieth Wedding Anniversary On Sunday afternoon, June 25, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lee was the scene for a festive occasion when Mr. and Mrs. Lee were guests of honour for a delightful party in honour, of their fortieth wedding anniversary. David Lee, a grandson, was in charge of the guest book. Daughters-în-iaw, grand- daughters and sisters assisted with the serving. The bride and groom of yesteryear received the guests and gave them a warm welcome. Long tea tables were arranged in the shade on the spacious lawn. After having appetizing orange punch, al enjoyed the, assorted sandwiches, tiny pastries, tea or coffee and wedding cake which was made by Mrs. Walter Magili, sister of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Lee, better known as Howard and Dorothy were the recipients of many beautiful gifst which included several items of ruby crystal glass-ware and ruby- trimmed bowls, etc. cook- ware from their family, a set of Corelle dishes by Corning from the brothers and sisters, a cream and sugar to match, electrie clothes dryer, purse of money, chesterfield suite, a lovely floral arrangement from Court Lady Snowbird and a potted plant from the grandchildren. The Atoms shut out officiating clergyman. They were attended by Lottie Brown, bridesmaid and, Russel Brown groomsman. Howard is the oldest of ten children and it was most pleasant to have his mother, Mrs. Katie Lee,(88 years old) of Brooklin in attendance. His aunt Mrs. Flossie Jones also of Brooklin and over eighty was aiso présent. Dorothy's aunt, Mrs. Ed Batten (80 plus) of Oshawa was also a guest. Howard's three sisters and one brother were there and Dorothy's two sisters and one brother joined in the celebra- tion. 11 The bride and groom of yesteryear are now in semni- retirement. Howard was an employee of General Motors and Dorothy was employed by the Postal Department for severai yearg. Three of her former postmasters attended the anniversary and she had a congratulatory word from another. This is a wonderful tribute to Dorothy's dedication to. duty. The one hundred and seventy-five guests who made this anniversary a memorable occasion were from Port Perry, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Toronto, Prince Albert, Janetville, Ajax, Seagrave, Hampton, Biackstock, Burketon, Wiliiam's Point, Scugog Point, Columbus, Scarborough, Lindsay, Ashburn and Nestieton. The Titans did not have a game, the Trojans (Hardbalfl start their schedule next week. The Tyrone Terrors (Lob bail) came up with one win and two losses.
