Pontypool Generais are waiting for the Veiveton - Port Perry semi-finais ta finish. The- teams are presently tied at a game each and are ta play again in Part Perry on Wednesday. Miss Joan Bittroff from Delta, B.C. recently spent a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. Garland Cathcart and Mr. Arthur Thompson before going on ta visit relatives in Kingston. There were many from Kendai area who attended the big gathering at the Kirby Schooi Centennial, Saturday, August 26th held on the school groutids and in the school house. Many of the former teachers and pupils of Kirby aild friends and acquaintances. There was something for everyone including speeches, the flag raising, a tree planting, the cake cutting, a skit, a fiddie contest, children's games, a sing sang and a supper provided1 by the Kinsmen of the Great Pine Ridge. The evening closed with a dance in the New Kirby School Auditorium. The weather was perfect and al agreed it was a wonderful get together and celebration. At church on Sunday morning, Rev. A.
