Prior to joining Durham College staff, she was in partnership practice in Dental Surgery in England. She has a Licenciate in Dental Surgery from the University of Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Mrs. Margaret MacDonald is the new Clinical Supervisor of the Health Sciences Division. She has a B. Se. in Nursing and a Diploma in Nursing Education fromn the University of Windsor and before coming.to the College was a Health Nurse for the Developmentally Handicapped and a teaching master at St. Clair College, Windsor, she was Assistant Director at the Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Windsor where she previously served as classroom teacher and clinical i structor. Mr. Stan Durrant has been appointed Department Head of Skills Training in the Aduit Training Division. He joined the Aduit Training Division in 197,5. His employment history includes welding experience and supervisory experience for several leading English cornmpanies as well as lecturer at lishop Auckland College and Southhampton College England. ELIZABETH VILLE (Intended for last week) Church services were held at the annual time 9:15 a. m. at Garden Hill. Not too big a crowd it being the holiday weekend before school starts. Mr. Geo. Wood rendered a solo which was enjoyed by ahl. Rev. W. Kennedy spoke on "Thoughts for a Labour Weekendholiday". Mrs. H. Quantrill and Mrs. B. Wheeler were at the door at the close of the services. Rev. Kennedy mentioned the death of Mrs. Bessie Wright, wife of the late Rev. Wright who had been here as our pastor a numnber of years ago. A.T.O.S. weiner roast and corn roast at the farmn of Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Farrow, Friday, September 8 from 7 p.m. onward. Everyone is welcome. Communion at Garden Hill, September 24th and Welcome, October lst. Mr. Clarence Mercer spent Saturday at the exhibition. Mrs. Almon Elliott and daughter Mrs. Esther Henry, Toronto, visited Mrs. Berniece Wheeler last week. Mrs. Howard White is in Toronto General Hospital where she underwent an operation last week. Mr. White and Wendy were to visit her on Sunday. Miss Lula Beatty is a Cobourg Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mercer had Shane and Joel Crombie over the long weekend while their parents were on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. John Quantrill and family of Kingsville holidayed in the north and called at Quantrill's on their way home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. Muldrew had Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mclntosh and boys on Sunday. Evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Challice; Mr. and Mrs. W. Longyear. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Peacock visited Mr. and Mrs. E. Lee, Peterborough on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Trew had Mr. and Mrs. W. Deremo and Ben, Orono on Sunday and had Mrs. A. Trew, Millbrook on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. W. Terbenche and Darryl, Port Hope, were with Mr. and Mrs. C. Mercer on Sunday. Mr. Roy Beatty, Toronto, called at Mr. and Mrs. 0. Mercer on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. Quantril] spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. E. Elliott at their cottage on Lake Scugog. Mrs. H. Muldrew and Jim, were in Cobourg a day last week and Mrs. Muldrew visited Mrs. Mae Trew; Mrs. Mary Challis; Mrs. Russell; Mr. Jack Archer and Mr. Roy Strong at the Golden Plough Lodge. Mrs. 0. Mercer and Mrs. Thickson visited Mr. and Mrs. Lewko at Garden Hill on Monday. Anno unce Appointments To Djurham College Staff Several important academie management appointments have been made by Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology this fail., There is a new Director of Durham College Applied Arts Division, Donald Michie formnerly Department Head of Administrative Arts, bas succeeded David Skinnier as Director of thîs Division. Mr. Donald Michie joined the 11 - -- = -- - -- « - College in August 1970. serving first in the Business Division as a teaching master, then assuming responsibility for the College's Conference Centre, before moving to the Applied Arts Division as a Department Head. Prior to joining -the ýCollege, Donald Michie was ,an, analyst for, ShelI Canada and an organiza- tion and methods officer for the Department of Fisheries and Forestry, Ottawa. Don Michie received his B.A. from the University of Manitoba. To achieve a better interface with industry in regard to training and meeting training require- ments there is now a Depart- ment Head for business and industry in the Adult Training Division. John Long who joined the Business Division in August 1975, has been promoted to this post. Before joining the College he had served as Distribution Manager for Silverwood Dairies, ProductOion Supervisor for the Upjohn Company Supervisory Trainee for Dominion Dainies and as Salesman for Ortho Pharmaceuticals .John Long has a B.S.A. from the University of Guelph and a M.B.A. from York University.
