A wide variety of crafts and hobbies were on display and visitors showed great interest in some of the courses that were being offered for the winter season. Keith Barr The candidate for a local council seat in ward three said Monday that he is running for .élection this faîl because he has an interest in bis community. "I'm willing to put my houlder to the wheel to do ,vihatever I can for the best of the community and the people -who live in it," saîd Keith Barr xn an interview wvith the ,Statesmnan. "1 think 1 can be of some ý-help and I have a great 'interest in the area,t' he explained. As a ward three councillor, Mr. Barr would be serving the Newcastle Village area plus Orono and Clarke ýTownship. SMr. Barr said that it may be too soon to talk about what the main issues will be in this year's municipal lection. H1owever, he predicted that many of the old issues such as taxes and facilities for senior Ycitizens could re-surface. 1Mr. Barr is a former ,Newcastle Village councillor who served on the village icounceil two years prior to the formation of regional government.
