Sehool board members are considering changes to the structure of the board's stand- ing committees. A task force, of trustees will submnit recom- mended changes in the comn- mittee structure to a meeting of the Board of Education in December. The work of students should be used to decorate the board room of the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education. This is one of the recom- miendations from a communi- cations committee which met recently in order to consider how it can improve the flow of information in the school system. Trustee Doug Galt also suggested that other areas for displays of student work including libraries and stores should be investigated. The communications comn- mittee also suggested that- a reading area containing pro- fessional literature for trustees be established in the school board office. Another recommendation from the- communications committee adopted last week calls for delegations to make presentations to scbool board committees wherever possible instead of speaking directly to the school board. It was also recommended that curriculum committee meetings be moved to various parts of the board's jurîsdic- tion from time to time. The Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education has decided to seli Shaw's School by public auction this Saturday, at two p.m. The school will be open for inspection at 11: 00 a.m. on the day of the sale.. The board has received permission to selI both Sha w's and the Harwood School by public, auction and if this method is not successful they may be sold by real estate listings. Local schools receiving this 'equip- ment include Courtice Secondary School, Courtice North Public School, Newcastle Public Sohool and the Enniskillen Public School.
