18 Supplement of The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, November 14, 1979 The marching of the smart Color Guard above was much admired by the Santa Claus Parade crowds. Reading from left to right above are the soldiers, Bob Martyn, Stephen Oke, Gary Clark, and the officer in the lead is Bob Kennedy. This guard was organized and drilled by Charles Kilpatrick. The soldiers are wearing the uniforms of the Red Marine Band, Oshawa. The- officer's sword was lent by O.J. Presson, and the muskets by Lorne McQuarrie. 1963 Is lined the streets of Bowmanville Saturday to watch the colorful ;anta Claus parade sponsored by the town Chamber of Commerce. Makes about 214 pounds. Variations: In place of the 1 cup chopped nuts, add ½2 cup chopped nuts, and '/2 CUP chopped candied cherries, or 12 cup chopped nuts and 1? cup chopped dried apricots.
