Mr. Hill, who lives in Hampton, is'head of the history department of Donevan Collegiate, Oshawa. H1e is married, with two chidren. He was nominated bv Douglas Moffat, who was the NDP candi- date in the last provincial eée- tion. Some change is to be made la the plans iu order that, the Board can obtain the maximum Provincial grant. The plans are to again go before the Department of Education with these changes. It was also decided at the meeting that the general purpose room and the present ,sehool wouid be joined with a permanent passageway. Prior to this decision only a canopy was to join the two buildings. 'It was feit that this ac- tion should be taken now rather than later on. Mr. McLeod saîd that lie hoped that witbin two years a new schoolwouid be built, around the general purpose room. Mrs. Wonnacott, music teacher, asked that music teachers be cat-, agorized in a similar manner as teachers. The request was turned down by th 'e Board as they were not sure of the ground they stood on in this matter. Mrs. Hamilton with two repre- sentatîves of bier insurance coin- pany presented conditions and prices for insurance coverage of the new Kîrby' Scbooi. Mr. F. E. Lycett also made a presentation for the insurance coverage., The proposais were referred to the finance committee for further study. It was noted at the meeting that the new scbool in Kirby will not be in use until sometime in June Mr. Stutt iCeported on a recent study of the Orono scbool grounds and recommended to the Board that the play area to the east be cieaned up by proper busbing, and tree removal. H1e said he went over the area with the Principal, Mr.,D. Moffat and Mr. Wmn.
