This was reported by 1he Librariah on Monday evening at the Board meeting. She also reported that 62 new books had been added to the library shelves ,during the month. ORONO SWIMMING CLUB PREPARING FOR INSTRUC- TIONS TIS JULY The Orono Swimming Club b:as lias held a number of meetings rec'ently preparing their sehedule ïf istructions for young swim- mers at the Orono pool this ,sum- mer. The course of instructions for ail age groups will be held during the, month of July.. Mrs. Shirley Reynolds of Hamp- ton wîll again be the head in- structor assisted by her daughter and a number of local swîmmers- The registratiohi for the classes will be held in June. Regstration fee to be charged is $3.00 a child in the first four groups with no farnily to pay more than $10.00. Seniior fee $400, Royal Life Sav- ing $5.00. These fees are Up over that of last year. NO WATER FOR SWIMMING POOL Mr. H. M. Mercer of the Orono Park, Board reports that water to the swimming tank has been cut off by the town who, refuse 'to turn it on. He states that there is littie community spirit in this attitude and wonder if' there is any interest in. the park, a non- profit entertprise, by the Village It appears that there is a bill outstanding against the park for a water extension of some $190.00 and until such is paid by the Park board the water is to remain turned off. Woodyard of the Orono Police TIrustees it was learned that the Trustees are serîously considering changing the use of the Armouries to house hydro trucks and an of- fice in the front. Apparently the plans_ are well advanced, to tie point of obtaining prices for tlhài change. It is also being considered that the fire trucks may also be hous- ed in the building. Reeve Foster at the recent Lib- rary Board meeting said that the Township of Clarke was in -need of more office space and that the space hiow taken up by the Làb. rary couid be used by the Town- ship for the additional offices.
