W. C. Easton, director of the program and a spokesman for the Society of Industrial Accountants of Ontario, said the first year and part of the 'second year of the 5- year R..A.1 course will be offered at Trent this f all. These will begin in October and will be administered by the Uni- versity's department of part-time studies. Mr. Easton spoke of the growing need for qualified management Qc- countents in the area and expect- cd the provision of the course at Trent to help in meeting the de- rnand. He hoped other subjects of the course would be added in fu- ture years. There are 165 R.I.A. students in the area who are. completing their courses by correspondence. The introduction of lecture class- es at Trent wll give them the op- tion of taking the course by lec- ure or correspondence. LOCAL NEWS Miss Marilyn West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junior West, is a pa- tient.in the Memorial Hospital in Bownianville. The- Orono Tyke basebail club took a 11-3 victory over Newcastle last week. Mark Mercer, the win- nig pitcher also collected three bits in the game. Other Orono hits were by Barry West, Barry C6x and Charles Butier POURING CEMENT FLOOR FOR HYDRO OFFICE AND GARAGE Work has started i preparing the Orono Armouries into a new Hydro office and garage. Last week the contracting firm from Trenton started laying a cernent floo r in the building and work continues on this part of the pro- ject. The Orono Police Trustees are constructing new office space in the south part of the building with garage space north of this sectiom. The office and garage space is to be rented to the Or- ono Hydro for their use. Kendal New S Ten members of the Kendal Women's Institute went this week on a three day holiday to Lake Kushog where the, presîdent, Mrs. E. Couroux has a cottage. This is not far from the'beautiful Lake of Bays *area. On July 31st the Kendal United Church. is holdig a miscellaneous sale on the Kendal Church lawn Harness Race Resuits Orono Raceway, Fni., July 5 Attendance *at the Orono Harn- ess races increased on Friday last to 685 and the Oshawa club can tow see attendance increasing to close to the one thousand mark.
