Mr. Grady also said that there existed a deficit on the water last'year_ and that any surplus that did exist could be put a- gainst the water account. At the present turne the surplus is going to pay engineering fees, he said. Re said there were 135 ratepay- ers in the Village over the age of 62 years with'many being'on fixed incomes. Further lie stated that no obe could say for sure when there would be a need for sewers in Orono. Mr. Grady pointed out that the Police Trustees had only received one written complaint oh road conditions. Aise lie said that 75% of the ratepayers had signed the petition opposing the project. Mr' Greenwood, the Board chairman, said that petitiots were notoriously unreliable ,and in most cases where petitions were circulated both for and ag- ainst a project that many. qîigna- tures could be foutd on the op- posing petitions. He doubted that the petitions held any weight in the hearing. ~Gord Sinpsomi OPhone Orono 983-58e 0 Orono, Ontariog vPAINTINU 0 CARPENTRY [JGENERAL REPAIES [J Interiog Exterior ( D.
