Gerald Rob- inson won the seventh driving Lilo Bars, a horse owned by B. Sommers of Trent River. Jack Wiliiams placed third with his own horse, Sycamore Jean in the third. Keith West placed second with Dandy Doc in the sixth, a race that covered the mile in 2.09.3. ln Peterborough last week Oz- ark Jeffrey owned by M. and W. R o binson of Newtonville and driven by Gerald Robinson took a win on Wednesday night and followed'on Saturday with a secý oïid place finish. Jack Williams also took a win in Peterborough with his own horse, Wil Lor Ace in the open- ing race. In the tenth race G. Robinson again entered tne win- ner's circle with Barbara D Pride. Gerald Robinson is one of the busiest horsemen at the Peter- borough tracký holding the record to date for the miost drives. Gerald has made 45 appearances on the track ànd hoids a record of .364. The closest driver to the 45 mark is Gerry Lowry with 42 drives. Rtobinson holds fifth place in the standings for drivers at the track for 1968. Junior West holds an average at Peterborough of .380 which bas earned his fourth position in the standings. His starts total 33 with six, in the whtmets circle, 6 seconds and 10 -thirds. KO DAK nvZc Mr. Lawrence Greenwood, chairman of the Transportation Committec of the Clarke Public Scbooi Board presented to -the Board a proposed bus route for the coming school term. The plati was accepted in principle by the Board and is now to be taken to the bus owners for their sug- gestions and approvals. 'It was also recornmended that no student be picked up before 8 o'ciock tior that any student beý requircd to ride ona a bus for more than an hour. This is to 'be written into the bus contract. Mr. Green- wood feit that the routes as set out should work out satisfactorily with littie inconvenieÉice. During the discussion 'of the routes it was pointed out that two rlassrooms of students who wouid normally attehd Lockharts would this year be attending the new Kirby School. Also students frorn the Newtonviile: and Browns area wouid be bused to the Kirby School where bine rooms wilI be iu operation this year. Mr. Stutt reported'that a Prov- inrcial Inspector of Boliers had inspected the bolier at the Orono Scbool 'and had stated verbally that this piece of equipment should not be used until put hi proper shape. Further Mr. Stutt said that the Inspector said he would not approve the bolier in, its present condition. Eone at Orono Wins Over Port Hope In the Lakeshore, Junior Play- downs Orono has taken a lead by defeatiug Port Hope last Wedhies- day evening iu Port Hope. The local club took a 7-4 victory. This was the first game of the play- down series for Orono. Paul Jones pitched the entire gaine for Orono giving up eight hits and two waiks. Paul also çontiuued bis game at bat witb two bits aiid is possibly holding the best battiug average for the team this year. John Mather coliected three bits with two apiece to Keitb Jay, Grant Wade and singles to John Smith, Fraser Wallace and Dane Rogerson. The Orohio Club was scheduled to play 'Little Britain last Friday but due to the fact that Little Bitalu was unable to field a team the garne was cailed off to be rescbeduled at a later date.
