The petroglyphs are Indian rock carvings believed to have beeh made 1000 to 1500 years ago. Altlhough their inter- pretation 'is unknowu, the viewer can imagine at great length as to their meaning and the reasons for their construction. 1The Petroglyphs can be reach- ed by rond. Follow the South Stoney Lake rond, just north of Lakefield,' for about 20 miles. A timber access road turns left from~ the Stoney Lake road at the Blue Mountain., In and proceeds three miles to> the carvimgs. An- other route to these carvings is to proceed frQon Apsley on the Jack's Lake IRoad and south on the timber access road for a dis- tance of thirteeni miles.
