The arrest of Gary Warren Chase follows a raid, conducted by police at five o'clock Friday morning at 10 Hawthorne Street in Cobourg. However, the charge against Chase is a' result of a raid by police on the samie resid- ence July 19. Friday morning,s raid netted ofý fîcers an undisclosed amount of marijuana and hashish,' which police say was greater than the amount seized July 19. A total of six persons, four youths and two girls, were dis- covered sleeping in the Chase res- idence at the time of Frîd.ay's raid. Police said charges are eý- pected f0 be laid as a resuit of the raid but added they are tem- porarily withholdîng tbe names of those arrested. One of the youths found in the residence is 'facing charges of possession as a resuit of a police raid in Bewdley June 4. The youth was also present at, the Hawthorne residence when police conducted a raid there, early Sunday. In the June 19 raid, Chase was believed to bc the host of a Party which netted' police three ounces of marijuana -and a quantity of a substance suspected to be LSD. Thirty-eight people, 10 females and 28 maies were present at the time of the raid. According to a police spokesman, t'wo were under 16 years of age. Police are stili withholding the names of those present. In addition to Frlay morning's raid, poblice also arresteýd Michael K. Clark of RR 5, Cobourg who is now in Cobourg provincial jail.
