Two were for grass fines while the third was a barn on the tobacco f arm of Mr. J. Barnoski, north east of New- tonville and straîght east, of Crooked Creek. In the middle of the week the department was cailed to a grass fire at Horne's Restaurant, 111gb- way 115 but it was under control when the Derpartment arnived. Sunday aftcrnoon they were eaul- ed te a qmall enass fire north of Mr., E. Schmîd's, Ovono, wbich was stanted by unknown cause. Shbotly after midnight on Sun- day the Department received a cail to the J. Barnoski tobacco farm, east of Crooked Creek. The barn and contents were, a total loss. The barn contained some to- bacco as well as some antique furniture. The Orono Junior Gardeners enjoyed a visit to the sugar bush at Mr. Harold Ransberry's farm. Mr. Gordon Power, Taunton Road, returned home from the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on Sunday where he bad been a patient after-being involved in an accident ne']r his home on Thursday of last v7 tk. Mr. Power was driving his tractr.ir on the Taunton Road when a car bit the back of the tractor, throwing hlm to the ditch. He was taken to the hospîtal by ambulance sufferîng cuts and bruises but luckily no broken bones. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Hartwig and family have moved into their new home on Main St. North, which tbey purchased from 'Mr. Floyd Nicholson. Mr. Horst Hoensch returned last Wednesday following a two week trip to Germany, H1e reports full employment and booming ec- onomy.
