Wk.re The Students Go The annual Guidance survey of the destinations of last year's graduates from the ten Second- ary Schools in Northumberland and Durham Counties has been completed and it, clearly' shows ;that the students have had a suc- cessful year. 0f the 433 grade 13 graduates 76.7% went on to some type of advanced education whilc the majority of the remainder found employment. Iu fact, enly 2½%/ of the graduates are now unem- ployed. At the grade 12 level almost haif of the 1.161 graduates went, on te grade 13 and a total of 60.8% went on te some type of advanced eilucatlon. This toteal is 8% less than last year's group however, this year, 8% more students went directly into em- ployment. The unemployment rate for this ycar's grads of grade 12 is 4.2% which is haîf of last year's rate. The survey is paiticularly valu- able this ycar because it shows that the graduates of the Second- ary Schools of Northumberland and Durham are stili attending universities and other institu- tiens as in the past, and that more students than, ever arai gain! ing pn'iioynmcnt.
