The group from Quebec is to, play three gaines, one each with the two Orono teams and the fin- al game against an ail-star aggre- gation of the two Orono teams. ORONO BANTAM EAGLES DOWNED BY NEWCASTLE The Orono, Bantam Eagle,ý were defeated in a leahue game 7-5 by the Newdastle Bantams on Friday evening. Chris Robinson scored two goals as well as picking up three assists in the game. He was fol- lower by Nick Van Segglen with two goals and two assists; Barry West completed the scoring for Orono. Coaches Barry Philp and Dean Westbrook stated all play- ed weIL. Peter Philp and Danny Barlow scored the Orono goals with an assist to Preston Long. The combJes listed Terry Coombs, Evan Byron Jones, George Pop- adic h, Mike Watson and Tan Morley as playing a good strong game throughout. JUNIOR "Dl' HOCKEY NEWS The N and O Combines met Bobcaygeon, Tuesday, Jan. 9th at Newcastle. Bobcaygeon scored the, first goal with Combines tie- ing it up by the end of the first periodt. Tom Martin scored with Doug. Rickard and Bill Wagar assisting. Bobcaygeon scored three goals iu the second period, making the score 4-1. In the final period Combines started off by scoring two goals'. Greg, Gray from David Ardi and Glenn Murphy and Jamie Wright from Bob Tennant. Bobcaygeon scored again. Then Glenn Murphy scored, assisted by Doug Ricka rd,putting the Combines only one goal behi.nd. Bobcaygeon then came back getting one more goal. The final score was 6-4 for the Bobcaygeon Ti-Cats. on Saturday, Jan. 13, the N and'O Combines journeyed to Woodville. This was a close game ending ln a tie, 8-8. Tuesday night, Jan. '16, Com- bines played the Haliburton Huskies on home ice, defeating the Huskies by a score of 6-4. Before the opening face-off, with the teams lined up on the ice, a minutes silence was observed in memory of Mrs. irvin *Mcul. lough. Haliburton scored first, but soon after Jamie Wright started the N and O's off by scoring two goals assisted by Robin Rickard, Main Street ORONO Rob Russell and Dean- Cox. 'I the second period, Dean Cox got the third goal assisted by Jamie, Wright and Robin Rickard. Bob Tennant scored unassisted from the blue line. Haliburton'scored, making the score 4-2. The last period was close as Haliburton tied up the game, but Combines held them back scor- ing two goals within the last ten minutes of play. Robbie Russel scored both goals, assists going to Ilobin Rickard, twice - Dean Cox and Glenn Murphy assisting. Unfortunately, the Combines had an off night when the trav- elled to Haliburton en Saturday, Jan. 2th. They lost the game 14-3.
