On Sunday morning there were people in Kendal Church nfromn Shiloh and Newtonville. nThe service was taken by Mr. D, Dale of Oshawa xwho read his scripture reading from the 26 Chapter of Acts. Paul witnessing for Christ before King Agrippa. 1 In verse 28 King Agrippa said, "AIlmost thou persuad- est me to be a Christian." Mr. Dale said there was no such thing -as an "almost" Christian. Those attending the service were invited to enjoy a sýocial hour in the Sunday School room at 12:30. Fol- lowing the luncheon Mr. Mark WVagar acted as master. of Jcelremonies telling the gath- ering that we were taking this opportuntiy to thank these four men who had supplied on the Newtonville Charge for the last four months. Mr. Mel Jones told of the work the ministerial commit- tee of six men had donc drawing up schedules etc. The four men wbu supplied Mr. R. HIs, Mr. M. Colvin, Mr. D. Dale and Mr. M. Bradley were asked to come forward and presented with a gift. Mr. Dale spoke on behaîf of the group, telling of the new friends he had made and the joy fie had in serving the Lord. Then Rev.' G. Montgomery was introducedto the group byv Mr. M. Joncs. He spoke fittigly -to-the people and to the young men. Hc said hie was looking forward to Mr. -His ordination one year from now. N ext Sunday Rev. Gordon Montgomery will preach his first sermon on the charge. Roy. MacDonald had an operation on his nose in Peterborough hospital last Thursday. HUc hopes tb be baek ini High School soon. Kendal's Penny Sale had a I record attendance on Satur- day night. Mr. John Shetler held the lucky ticket on the Dresden Plate quilt. Mr. Shetler of Orono plays on the Kendal bail team. The three in one Doubles Club will be travelling by busL to, Niagara Falls for a tour of the peach blossoms on Sunday May l2th Mother's, Day,. At the north plant the girls were given a sample square -of 'the seven different woods used at the end of the tour thru the south plant each girl was given a finished plate. We would like to thank Mr. Mather at the north plant and Mrs. Annaert at the south plant for making our tour so interesting and informative. Thank you also to our Mothers -Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Kemp and Mrs. Moffat who provided transportation between the two- plants. This. tour wa s undertaken by the girls wor- k ing on their Industrial Bad- ge.1 Early Saturday morning Lieut Bambrick, Lieut. Bene- diot, Tawny Owl^ Debbic Heard, Guides Lara Tate, Wendy Heard and Chris Benedict left for Camp. Adel- aide, near Haliburton. A complete cleaning -up and inspection of our camping equiprnent was in progress and we spent a busy day. In the kitchen we found our own Assistant Division Commiss- ioner Nell Snelders helping with the preparation of the meals for the weekend. It was a very tired car load of girls who arrived back in OronoI Late Saturday night. COURSE FOR COTTAGERS Durham College will be, offering a cottage design course for interested people anxious to beat the high cost of building wh ile escaping the hot city Pavement.
