Junior West in the first race of the day placed 2nd wi th Fair Weather pacing the mile in 2,11.3, while Gord Irwin driving Àramac Egan placed fourth. This horse Aramac Egan is oWned by Gord irwin, Oronoe and B., Dick and A. Richard of Oshawa- Meanwhile in the second race Junior West placed 5th wittî1 Kng Direct, owned by G. & M. Robinson of Newtonville. Gord Irwin placed 2nd with William Welsh's horse Hoot Van in the fourth, also in this race, Keith west was fourth with Ja De Glassford. Keith West was third in the fifth race with Shady Ady, also Junior West placed further back on the card, in this race. SIGNS WITH WHL TEAM -Steve West, last week signed a multi-year contract to play hockey with the Michigan- Stags who wiIl be playing out of Detroit in the coming hockey season. Steven has played in the Americani league for the past two years af ter leaving Junior Hockey in Oshawa. Last year playing with the New Haven Nighit Hawks, he headed the league with the greatest number of goals as well as topping the league with the most points during the season. The michigan stags are a transfer from Los Angeles where the team was known as the, Los Angeles Sharks. 1 AR SHIORT 0F OBJECTIVE - The Kendal Eagles subscriptîon campaiga designed to raise funds for the club has so far fallen short of its objections. BOWMANVILI E INTERMEDIATES EDGE KENDAL CLUB - Last week the Kendal Eagles were defeated by their arch rivals the Bowmanville Intermediates by a score of 3-2. Kendal went out in front in the game by scoring a rua in the first frame but this was counitered by a single run in the second by the Bowmanville squad. John Quantrili pitched the game for Keadal. PLAY AJAX IN KENDAL ON SATURDAY - The Kendal Eagles play at home on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. when they face Ajax. Then on Suaday they retura to Bowmanville aad will be hot after a win in the Rubber Town. KENDAL EAGLES TO PLAY IN TOURNAMENT -The Kendal Eagles wjll be one of sixteen teams to play in a Double Knock Oui Tournamnent which wîil be carried over a three-day period-, une 29 to July lst. The tournament is being held in this district to pick a represeatative to attend a tournament for Senior baîl in Saskatchewan. Duriag the three days the tournament will be held la four local centres, Port Hope, Kendal,,Bowmaavill and Oshawa. The Eagles play the first game of the tournament in Kendal on JuIy 29th at 9 a.m. KENDAL ROYALS ON TOP 0F LEAGUE '-The Keadal Junior Royals top the league with .a perfect record in the three games they have played in the league this year. They do however fall short of the games played by other clubs with the majority aow haviag played six games each. Oshawa holds dowa second place with Port Hope third, Peterborough, fourth and. Frankford in the cellar with no wîns to their credit.
