West driving Geisha Richelieu took hier third win of the year with a time of 2.07.4 and -paying $1030, $4.00 and $3.40. Jack Williams in the same race finished fifth with Harwill Shirley and Gord Irwin driving Angela Grattan was sevehth. Derek Newman in the second event of the night placed third driving Emancipator, a Bowmanville horse with the race being won by Chili Ranger in 2.09.3. Dreamy's Gold was second. Gerald Robinson in the fourth finished in second place with Roger Ringo wbile Derek Newman was sixth with Vegas Bob., The rac"was won in 2.07.2 by Minor Gordon. Newman returned in the fifth race to drive Wil Lor Amy to a third place finish behind Chatter Hal, the winner in 2.10.2 and Wee Albert with the second plgce finish. Robbie Robinson was,-fifth lu1 the sixth with High Attorney with the event going to Hard Time in a time'of. -2.07.3. The seventh was won by Singlemore in 2.06.4 with Sale Time second and Ivan's Lucky Girl third. The 8th race going in 2.08.1 was won by Chasmar Billy witb Keitb West in seventh place with Limas Challenger. The Lycett horse Knee Boots took the nintb race in 2.04.1 boosting its earning over the $508500 mark for 1974. Spang Time was second and Prima Blossomn third. SATURDAY'S RESULTS .. .Junior West on Saturday night took his furtber two wins for the week. In the first race of the night West drove Larwill Don, owned by William and Larry Boyd of Orono to the win in 2.09.4. It was the fourth start for the horse this year and its first win. Derek Newman in the samne race tinmshecC fifth with Meadowview Johnny, a horse owned by Dave Watkins and Chas. Reid of Orono. Junior West returned in the sixtb to again win this time driving Sully's Dolly in a- time of 2.08.1. West was fourth witb Fair Weather in the second event and third in the ninth with Zorro Grattan. Gerald Robinson was secondin the fourtb race of the night driving Jennmie Mac Song. The race was won by Slent Honor in 2.06. Jennie Mac Song paid $13.50 and $6.00. Gord Irwîn found is mark in the eighth race winning the event driving boot Van in a time of 2.08.2. Hoot Van now bas bad three wins. 10 seconds and 5 thirds. Dere k Newman fînished off the last two e vents withea win and a second plaeç finish. In the tenth race with two other local drivers close on his heels hie won with Tarpot Scotty' owned by J. Phair of Orono. Gerald Robinson was a close second with Joe Stadt and- Junior West driving King Direct, *owned by G. and M. Robinson of I4ewtonville ended in a dead heat witb Wee Winkie for third money. In thie ninth race Derek Newman was second with, Ruby Parker, owned by Stacey and Devitt of Orono while Junior West fînished ln third place with Zorro Grattan. The race was won by Bilîboard in a time of 2.10.2. PORT HOPE TAKES NEWCASTLE TOURNAMENT-The Port Hope Basebaîl Club was the winner of the Civic Holiday tournament in Newcastle on Monday. Four teams competed in the tournie with Bowmanville first defeating Ajax by a score of 3-1. Port Hope then defeated Kendal 7-1 and returned to fthe diamond to defeat -Bowmanville in the final game by 5-1. KENDAL JUNIOR ROYALS OUT IN FRONT 0F FRANKFORD-The Kendal Royals on Monday lu playing a double header witb Franikford took a 2-0 edge in games in the best three of five games. This is the first round of the Ontario playdowns for the Kendal Juniors. The Royals took the first game by asoeo -.A h end of the fif th inning of the second gaihe Frankford forfeited the game by taking their team off the field stating that some members had to go to-work and they had no substitutes. It jis now expected that Frankford may forfeit the seies and wvord on this is expected this week. In the first game Monday Eric Moore was the wînning pitcher and also scored two of the Kendal runs. The Royals took a 2-0 lead in the first frame when Don Pandoff walked and scored on AI Pears first home run of the day. Doug itickard with a single and Tom Wallace with a double in the second framne scored two more runs to place Ken dal 4-0 a t the end of the second inning. Three runs were scored by Kendal in the third frame when Eric Moore singled, Doug Rickard singled and Tom Wallace bit out a double. The score a t this point rested at 7-0. Frankford scored a lone run in the fifth as did Kendal when Eric Moore again scored. Frankford drove in tbeir second count in the sixth. In tbe seventh inning Mike Carman scored wîth Jim Stacey and Jerry Thompson adding two more in the eighth. In the second gaine of the double-header the first three innings were scoreless with T. Becker on the mound for Kendal. In the fourtb frame Frankford scored a run following a fielding error by Kendal. It is the intention of the Club to hold Advance Ladies and Mens groups later in the season. Recent results are as follows: Ladies Double Beginner's Group, in first place Janice Caldwell and Patt Kidd with Louise Bellamy and Janet Attwooll in second place. Brenda Lawrence bolds top position in the Ladies Beginner Singles with Donna Mudd placing second. T he Junior Advance Doubles was won by Owen Johnston and Doug Winterhelt with Gary Bridger and Mîke Hollinger in second place. John West and Todd Haynes hold down first place in the Junior Beginners Doubles with Steven Cark and Mark Konzelamn the runner-ups. Doug Winterhelt was the winner in the Junior Singles Advance with Gary Bridger placing second. In the Beginners Singles Jim Moffat was the top player with Steven Clark in second place. KENDAL EAGLES DUB OPENING GAME WITH. KEENE, 1In the opening game of the Intermediate C playdowns Keene took a win to go out infront of the ZKendal Eagles, one game to none. The game was played in Kendal on Sunday af ternoon and was a late starter due to the rainfaîl. But when the game started the Eagles were pluqued with too many errors to allow 'Keene to score at least five unearned runs. Final score was 7-4 with John Kemp the winning pitcher and Ralph Kennedy having to take the 1l-oss. The next game in the tbree game series will be played in Keene this coming Saturday afternoon at 3.00 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be played in Keene the following day, Sunday.
