According to the Times story 'Gold Stars for Attend- ance", went to Councillors Hobbs of Bowmanville and Councillor Kennetb Lyall of Clarke, Orono and Newcastle Village who have not missed a meeting sînce the first Reg- ional meeting, was beld in October 1973. On the.local level, the New Town of Newcastle Council record of meetings shows that Councillor Hobbs again top- ped the list being a b ent for only one meeting. According to minutes, Mr .Hobbs missed a meeting. in February becau- se he couldn't divide imself in two and attend a Oshawa meeting of the Police Com- mission of which he is a member --amd attend .a Newcastle Council meeting that was. scheduled tor the same day and the same hour. Mr. Hobbs holds a perfect attendance record at the Newcastle Town committee meetings.
