This was taken from a survey whnicb was underway this year in the district which included a creel survey. The creel census crew contac ted 5983 anglers during the samne period. The rate of ang1er's. success expressed in fish per aingler hour was .26 on Chemnung, .23 on Buckhorn, and .24 on Pigeon Lake, or i t took lhe.average anger 4 hours to catch ore fish. These 5983 anglers fished for a total of 7968 hours and had in their possession a total of 1982 dish composed of 844 pickerel, 751 perch, 212 pumpkinseeds, e~4 large and smallmouth bass, 63 bullheads, 37 rockbass and il maskinonge. NONQUONPROVINCIALWILDLIFE AREA The Nonquon Provincial Wildlife area stili undet development is one of the newer provincial hunting areas in the Lindsay District. it is presentlyûpen to public hunting. The property open to public hunting consists of well signed areas bordering the Nonquon River, made up of wooded areas to open wretlands ranging from 12-mile to 11/2 miles in width and takes in approximately 2,000 acres between the 7th and Itb concession of Reaàh Township, east of Highway No. 12 The area has abundant wate-rfowl in the wetland areas and the wooded areas harbour a good populatidn of grouse and small game animais. The property is located forty-nine -miles northeast of Toronto, 20 miles north of Oshawa and,2 miles north of Port Perry, between Ontario County Road No. 2 and Higbway No. 12. BACK ON INJURY LIST Steven West who plays for the Michigan Stags is back on the injury list following a gamne over the weekend. Last summner he had an operation removing a cartilage. Approve da y care centre The province of Ôntario has given approval in principafý- for the construction of a day-care centre in the Town of Bowmanville. The centre will be able to handie some 45 nursery children. Althougb the approval in principal was received the region was informed not to proceed witb construction until further con- .firmation was received. The region bas applied for approval for five new centres to be constructed in the region. When approved the province pays the majority of the cost of building the centres. When making the submis- sion the region gave their priority to the Bowmanville centre with Port Perry.
