The scripture reading was Ephesians 3:7-21 with special emphasis on verses 14 and 15. Then there were two aduit baptisms. That of Ronald Mark Runians and Panzy Elizabeth Run- ions. Then their baby Paula Runions was baptised. Rev. A. Tizzard aiso baptised Elaine Rase, daughter of, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Cathcart. Six senior students from the classes of Mrs. R. Frank and Mr. Mark Wagar visited Enterprise Church situated one hundred miles away, north of Napanee on May lst. Here they took part in a Bible sword drill competition. We are. happy ta report that' Kendal students won 15-5 for their efforts. They received a trophy ta keep for one year. Next Sunday, May l5th these.' students David Frank, Danny Wagar, Rolf Hellebust, Pamn- ela Franà, Corinne Turansky and Robin Ibbotson,_ wiii put' on a sword drill demonstrat- ion for Orona Sunday Schooi in Orono. Several fronn the Kendal area attended the Oronoý United Church Choir concert. It was indeed a very perfect musical event. Ail those who gave their time and talents deserve the highest praise. The funerai of Mr. Stan Therteli took place on Thurs- day, May 5 in Bawmanville. He was born in the Kendal area sixty-six years ago. The eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thertell. He attended McLean's School. He went ta work in the city of, Toronto. For the last couple of years hie has been in a wheel chair. He leaves a wife Pearl, by"6thers Harold; Glen, Grant, and Ray, of Bowmanviile and Clarence of Kendal and a sister Leana of Bowmanville. Sympathy is extended ta them ail. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph K<en- nedy entertained his mother Mrs.,H. Kennedy of Orno on Sunday. Mns. Mary Garczynski is now in Pnincess Margaret Hospital, Toronto. The United Church Women met at the home of Mrs. A. Tizzand on Wedne sday marn- ing, May 4th with twelve ladies present. The minutes were read and appraved. The financial rep- ort was given. Proceeds of aur special service were $67M5. Today's offering $13.55.' Our live love gifts of $50.oo each will be sent to help Dr. S. Bates carry on his ministry to the deaf, Belleville and ta aid Rev. and Mrs. Albert Banks carry on their missionary work on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Moved by Miss C.
