Oronio Hydro Elecfric Commission On Friday, May 2th the students of grade six at Orono Public School had a present- atioti for the sehool. The presentation concerned the Queen's Silver Jubilee. MÉ. Moffatt came and gave a lîttie talk and passed out the medallions to the staff and students. Ahl week we sang God Save Our Queen. We also had a Warkworth and area open- ed a new arena and commun- ity centre on Saturday costing some $500,000.00. Bill Tate also helped by working the projector. Mr. Moffatt told us why we were getting the medallions and he also told us that we couldn't spend them. Two local athietes in- Ontario School f ina ls Electrical Contracting Phione 98-55or 983-5940 mOoo naî Two students from Clarke High School wvill compete in the Ontario Secondary School championships to bc held in Sudbury on June 3 and 4. The two students gained this opportunity by taking first places in the recently held Ontario Eastern Regional qualifying track meet at Civic Fields in Oshawa. Janet Lovekîn of Newcastle an ardent athlete at Clarke Hgh School will compete in the long jump at Sudbury in the Senior Girls division. Last Saturday Janet won the event with a jump of 5.04 meters. Calvin Allen also of New- castle and the Clarke High School took first in the boy's open 400 meter hurdles at the Oshawa meet and as such will compete in the Sudbury games. Calvin took the 400 meter hurdies in 58.9 The presentation was a great project. We would like' to thank Mr. Moffatt for taking some time to corne to the school and present the medallions.
