The two students gained this opportunity by taking first places in the recently held Ontario Eastern Regional qualifying track meet at Civic Fields in Oshawa. Janet Lovekîn of Newcastle an ardent athlete at Clarke Hgh School will compete in the long jump at Sudbury in the Senior Girls division. Last Saturday Janet won the event with a jump of 5.04 meters. Calvin Allen also of New- castle and the Clarke High School took first in the boy's open 400 meter hurdles at the Oshawa meet and as such will compete in the Sudbury games. Calvin took the 400 meter hurdies in 58.9 The presentation was a great project. We would like' to thank Mr. Moffatt for taking some time to corne to the school and present the medallions.
