Wood played the Hammoi organ, and Mrs. A. Tizzard sang "There were ninety and fine". The scripture reading was Acts 9: 10 - 31. This told of tue conversion of Saul to become a follower of the Christ. He became - Paul the apostie and in verse 31 0f the abov e its states, "Then had the churches rest or pence"l. Rev. A. Tizzard asked the conigregation to tell what they had done on the Sundays of vacation. Some interesting replies were received. One lad said hie had attended an Aýnglican service, others neig- hbouring churches etc. Then our minister told of the ministers he had heard with their messages. H1e gave us somne of the high light of their bus 'tour to Edmonton and beyond to his daughter's home. He told of the places he visi ted and the peoplehe met. He told us that bis daughter lived thirty miles from the nearest United., Church. There is great need for more missionaries in central Can- ada. We look forward to a challenging year ahead. Mr. and Mrs. Mlark Wagar Dannie andl Donna are vaca- tioning in New Brunswick. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Andrews and Ian have travelled tu his' home where hîs parents live east of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. A good breakfast may be served by cooking a cup of Vita B. in boiling salted water and then adding a cup of oatmeal. If yout are travelling and camping at night, after breakfast prepare the dinner. Then as you tra vel on you cani stop for lunch at any pretty spot and eat the dinner, already prepared. On July 27th, 19771 there passed away Mrs. Sybil Comstock Snell in her nineëty- ninth year. She, was born at Kendal in the home now owned by Mrs. Mae Garbutt. Her father owned the flour miii and lumber miii west of Kendal's Main Street. In the year 1905 she was married to Rev. Isaac Snell. This was the first church weddîng held in the Methodist Church our present United Church. R. Woodyard on Friday was given author- îty to investigate further the possibility of the Town prov- iding further fire protection in Kendal. Counc(. Woodyard has been investigating a source 0of water supply for fire fighting in Kendai from a flowing weil which exists in the Hamiet. The Councilor reported that to date his investigations have been favourabie but wolfike further authority to continue his investigation fromi council. Secondly, we have a new brochure out, listing ail the miuseumrs of Central Ontario, comnplete with a mnap showing their locations and giving a short resume of their main attractions and hours open. This brochure was made possible by priva te donations and a Wintario Grant, and is availabe at various places on Hwy. .35 and 115, and of course, her e at the Museum; it's weii worth having as a reference for short summer, trips, so even if you haven't won anything on the lottery tickets, you'll get something worthwhile for your money if you pick this up. And iastly, anyone interest- ed in going to the Second Annuai Symposium on' the Agriculturai Hîstory of Ont- ario "Settiement and Settle- ments" to be held on Satur- day, October 22 at the University of Guelph, can get a sheet listing the topics and further details at the Mus- eum.
