Helen Steiner Riue. Sudymorning, Decern- ber ith was a very special day at Kendal Church, White Gift Sunday when we make our, special rissionary offer- ing for those in other -lands across the sea., T'his writer didn't like the look of the frosted window panes. As we wvent out the lane and turned unto the sixth line the car kept on turning. It spun around just like a top. We thought rnaybe that was a warning that we were to stay homne so we listened to a fine service on the radio frorn- St. Thomas Anglican Church in St. Catherines. The pipe organ sounded so fine and the choir sang my favourite carol, "Angels we have heard on high". Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Byers and farnily of Welcome took her mother Mrs. E. Foster with thern to Woodstock to visit M\r. and Mrs. Jack Fonk and farnily on Saturday, Decernber 17th. The Kendal Wornen's Insti- tute rnet at the home of Mrs. Eleanor Foster on Wednes- day evening, December 14thi with ten mernbers present. They enjoyed a delicious "Pot Luck Supper". The prograrn was in charge of Mrs Helen Hlendersoni. It took the forrn of a fashion show. First three models caime out wearing beautiful flimsy, frilled, ruffled night gowns etc. Next the three cam-e out again (due to the energy crisis with heat very low) they wee earing long underwear, sweaters, caps and socks. Really good cos- tuirnes for a laugh frorn one extreme to, the other. Helen Hlenderson was the commifen- tator. Then came the openinig of> the gifts and a good deal of discussion on several sub- jects. Se-veral rnernbers did not get out due to fog and slpeyroads but those that did thought it a ively Christmwas meeting.
