February 22nd, 1978 A iovely autumn wedding took place on Saturday, October 22nd, 1977 at 3:30 p.m. at Orono United Church, when Sharon Joan, daughter of James and Doreen Lowery, and Randy Lee, son of Ernie and Beatrice Blake, Bowman- ville, were united in marriage with Rev. Basil Long officiat- ing. The organist was Mrs. Stella Morton. Gîven in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white polyester satin with crepe backing. The bodice and slightly fiared gathered gored skirt, set in midriff, raised on front and dipping to waistline at back. Cut with a train having long medieval sleeves. The collar, sleeves and bottom of dress edged in lace. Her headpiece accented with pearîs held a waist length veil and she carried a bouquet of coral Sweetheart roses, white carnations and stephanotis. The maid of honor was Miss Lorna Lowery, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Karen Jacobs, sister of the bride and Miss Wendy Mountjoy. They wore iden tical gowns of rust Jersey tricot knit with capes of floral chiffon to match. The flower girl Tammy Conlin, niece of the groom wore a gown of floral chiffon over rust to BLAKE - LOWERY match. They ail carried nosegays of rust and white daisy mums with coral roses and wore rust and white daisies in their hair. The groom wore brown formai trousers and Camelot jacket with brown veivet vistand bow tie and a corai rose boutonniere. The best man was Mr. Bob Preston, Carl Lowery brother of the bride and Don Blake, brother of the groom were the ushers and ail wore dark brown tuxedos, veivet vest and bow ties with yellow carnation buttonnieres. The reception was held at the church when the bride's mother received the guests in a coral gown of tricot crepe with a sheer pieated cape, and a wristiet of coral roses, The groôm's mother assisted wearing ,a gown of sea green blue sheer print over taffeta and a corsage of corai roses. Prior to the wedding Sharon was honour- ed with many showers. A relative shower given by her sisters at her mothers. A relative shower at her Aunt Marjorie Lowery's given by cousins Lynn and Marcia. A community shower held at Kirby United Church, hostes- ses Leona Wison and Inez Harris. A shower at Mrs. Patsy Scotts, Newcatle, sister of the groom for friends and a relative shower at the groom's aunt Mrs. Dorothy Crago, Bowmanviile. Guests at the wedding were from Ohio, Toronto, New Market, Woodviile, Lakefield, Peterborough and surround- ing area. After the dance the iiappy couple left for a short honeymoon to Ottawa.
