This action was taken dren by council followi'ng a recom- mendation from the finance area committee. The committee MIC after meeting in camera used stated that the lot levies were vhile not applicable in this case. Mr. Charles Ewert in pay- ing the lot levies to the Town on behaîf of the lodge stated they, were paying the levies under protest and that tbe lot levies did not apply in this case. The Durham County Senior Citizens Lodge will receive an amount of $119,500 wbicb was paid as lot levies to 'the Town. The Town of Newcastle have scheduled a meeting for the Village of Orono for the evening f Thursday, June 22nd. At this meeting coun(cil members are to meet with residents of Home Smith subdivision concerning the use of the Town property in the sub-dhiion as well as discussing the Armstrong Stores proposai for a shop- ping centre in the north-east sector of the Village. The meeting with residents of the Home Smith sub- division is to get underway at 7:00 p.m. The discussion will cenitre around the use of Town property within the sub- divisioni.
