Mrs. Glen Hancock dec- orated the beautiful wedding cake, which was made by Peggy Conroy, a daughter, while Helen Shak, a daughter, Shelagh and Louise Hancock, daughters-in-law repared the first course of the supper, unit one supplying the sweets and presiding over the kitchen. There were guests from Hawaii and Tennessee in the US., British Columbia and varïous places in Ontario. Altogether it was a splendid gathering of the Hancock and Arnold clans, and there was much happy remniniscing. Incidentally, eight other Sisters from Orono Lodge accompanied Isabelle and Doreen at the Royal York. This is an annual event which is looked forward to by the Past Noble Grands. July is holiday month at Kendal church but a number of our people attended the United Church Service held in Kirby Public Sehool au!ditor- ium 'on July 2nd- Mrs. Dora Morris sang a beautiful solo accompanied by Mrs. H. Lowery. Miss Beatrice Mc- Lean B.A. of Locust Hlli gave the message. Kendal United Church Wo- men had a very successful salad supper on Wednesday evening, June 28th. People attended from Scarborough, Oshawa, Bowmanville, Pontypool and neighbouring communities. The ladies wish to thank ail those who helped in any way with cooking etc. and especially Mr. Abrey and Rolf and Steven Hellebust who played the piano so well. The boys and girls have finished the school year and are planning what they shall do for the summer months. In the years gone by the big boys attended school in the winter time but quit school in March to help with the spring work on the farm. Twelve couples attended which was smaller than expected as some farm- ers were busy xith the hay.
