Park renamed to honor A. Carruthers Last week the council of Hope Township renamed the Garden Hill1 park to honour a former resident of Garden Hill, Mr. Alex Carruthers. The park located on the south side of County Road 9 in Garden Hlli and across from the Garden Hill Conservation area has been renamed "The Alex Carruthers Memorial Park". For some months a group of citizens in the area have been raising funds to improve the Orono Weeklv Times, Wednesday, July 12th. 1978-5 ,rike may affect completion date of Arena facilities at the park as well as expanding the park with an additional two acres.
