The counicil of the Town of Newcastle on Monday passed a resolution in which the Town petitons the Ministry of Revenue to adjust assess- monits within the Town in accordance with the Mini- stry's offer. Council had also asked that this work be done providing it doos not affect the Town's grants from the Province. The motion was proposed to counili in a report' from Mayor Rickard. The motion appeared to ho the outcome of the meeting with the ministry and a number of members of council Councillor Taylor said this request was in a different bal park to that requesting an aidjustment to the regionai ievy to the Town of Newcas- fie.
