Persons convicted of an offence under the Migratory Birds Convention Act and-or the Migratory Birds Regula- tions are prohibited from purchasing a Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit for a period of one year from date of conviction of the offence. Hunting within one quarter mile of bait placed out to attract migratory birds is an offence under the Migratory Bird Regulations. The 1978 waterfowl season looks promising, but hunters should be familiar with the regulations as they pertain to waterfowl hunting. A sum- mary of these and other hunting regulations is available at local hunting licence issuers or from your nearest Ministry of Natural Resources office. c j SWilliam C. Hall, B.Comm.
