Local musical groups put Iungsto good use A really good night out with a ch ance to support a w or thy cause will be provided by seven of Durham Region's most talented musical groups, at' 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29th at latter part of the schedule and throughout the playdowns. Tickets are $2.50, and al proceeds will go to the Christmas 'Seal Campaign, which funds research into respiratory diseases, and also provides such local commun- ity programs as this summers Day Camp for Asthmaic Children at Camp Samac, Better Breathing Courses for emphysema and bronchitis patients, Smoking Withdraw- ai Clinics and free film and literature services. Last Thursday evening at the Orono Park the beginning of the end of the LOBB bal season got, underway. The gamne was marked by a number of errors on the part of both teams. M&M are undaunted by the odtcomne and are determined to again,bring the championship to Orono as they have in the 'past two years. The second gamne of the series will be played irî Bowmanville on Tuesday ev- ening at Memorial Park. The third gamne of the series wil return to the Orono Park and is expected to be played (at press time) on either Wednes- day or Thursday evening. Barry's Variety are the western division champions while M&M Variety are the eastern division champions. The overail championship will be declared this week.
