Our temperature is 23 Celcius better than last year at ts date. Kendal Sunday School Christmas Concert was put on a t Il: :15 arnm. Sunday rnorning Dec. lOth to a full church. We were greeted at the door and given a printed program by Karen Kennedy and Randy Fra nk. T he superintendant Mrs. Dorothy Hellebust wel- comed the visitors and called on David Frank to give the opening prayer. The Nursery Class under the leadership of Lorraine Evans and June Foster sang exceedingly well, "We wish you a Merry Christmas", "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", and "Away in a Manger", with Mrs. Helen Wood at the piano. They were intersperced with recitations by three lads. The Prirnary Class led by Mary Lou Fonk favoured us with two fine piano solos, "The First Noel", by Patricia Frank and "Silent Night", by Paula Robinson. Then we joined the class in singing, "O Corne Ail Ye Faithful", ac- companied by Andrew Helle- bust at the piano and Roif Hlellebust and David Frank on their guitars. The second advent candle was lit and the offering taken Up by Lisa loy and BiIly Greenwood. The Junior Class led by their teacher Mrs. Jean Hoy began with a piano solo by Karen Kennedy followed by a Puppet Play entitled, The Birth of Jesus. The audience joined with this class la singing Joy to the World accomparned by Andrew Roîf and David on guitars. The teachers of the senior class are Dorothy Hellebust and Peggy Frank. Their part began with a duet entitled, -Christmas-, sung hy Karen Kennedy and Paula Robin- sý,on, accomnpanied by bisa Hloy. Then Steven Hellebust favoured us with a trumpet' solo "O Holy Night", accom- panied by Helen Wood. A play The Joys of Chri st- mias was welldone. The ci-ass sang, -T*was in the moon of winter time-, accornpanied by Steven on his trumpet and Andrew at the piano. Rev. A. Tizzard reminded us of White Gift Sunday next week, Dec. 17th. He moved a vote of appreciation to the teachers who had made such a fiie program possible. The Sun- day School presented the minister and his wife a Christmas gift and another gift to Mrs. K. Wood. Next Sunday evening there will be a hymn sing of Christmas Carols at Shiloh United Church. Dr. John Stevens flew into Toronto airport on Sunday morning, from Ottawa and came down' with the Hlellebust family to the Sunday School Christrnas Concert. Then he visited with his mother. The United Church Women, enjoyed a Pot Luck dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 6th at the home of Mrs. K. Wood. Twelve ladies sat down to dinner. This was followed by their meeting. Miss C. Ste- wart opened the meeting with a poem entitled, "A New Christmas Carol". We sang "White Shepherds Watched". Mrs. Reg. Elliott will be president during January, February and April, Mrs. Stevens will take the month of March, May and June will be looked after by Mrs. Stevens. Mrs. D. Skerratt will be in charge of the June supper. July, August, and September are to be looked after by Mrts. E. Foster white Miss C. Stewart will be President for the balance of the .year. The minutes were read and the financial report given. Moved by Mrs. M. Stevens, sec. by Mrs. R. Elliott that we give $40000 to the Church Board and $20000 towiards the Church hydro bill. Moved and sec. that we give $15.00 to the Bible Society. Moved by Mrs. G. Cathcart. sec. by Mrs. D. Skerratt that we give $50. 00 to the Clark family. Carrîed. Moved by Mrs. A. Low, sec. by Mrs. R. Elliott' that we give $25.00 to Street Haven. Car- ried.
