A Teen Dance held at the Orono Town Hall on Satur- day evening was a great suc- cess with somnewhere around 150 in attendance dancing to recorded and live music by the H-igh Rollers. It was good seeing the kids having a great time and it is understood more such dances will be promoted in the local hall in the near future. 4-H Club leaders to hold meeting 4-H Agricultural Club Leaders To Meet: The annual meeting of the Durhami 4-H Club Leaders Association will be held on Tuesday, February 9th. in Bowman- ville. At that time, Club Leaders will be starting to make plans for the upcoming 4-H year. It is hoped that, in addition to the old standard 4-H Clubs such as Dairy, Beef, Sheep, Swine, Field Crops and Farm Safety, that there will be somè new clubs available to mnterested young people in the county, 4-H Agricultural Clubs for young people ages 12 to 19 offer programns, whereby, young people "Learn To Do By Doing." This is ac- complishied by each member having a project of their choice which they raise or carry. on through the 4-H season. Junior Farmer Executive Elected: The 1982 Executive of the Durham Junior Farmer's Association was elected recently at the Association's Annual Meeting held in Hampton. President is Ross Leadbeater of Enniskillen; First Vice-president is Glenn McLeod of Orono, while Charlene Hall ;of Newtonville is 2nd. Vice-president; Secretary for 1982 is Judy Virtue of Enniskillen, while Dave Buttery of Hayden con- tinues as Treasurer. Director to the Provincial Directorate of the Association is Marilyn Sewell of Oshawa with Dale VanCamp of Blackstock as Alternate. Krista McHolmn of Welcome and Diane Byers of Port Hope will edit the coun- ty newsletter. Representation to the Zone 2 Council are Ross Leadbeater, Charlene Hall and Kevin Taylor.
