The night before the Manvers teamn had their revenge for us ousting themn from their own tournament as they trounced us by n score of 4-2. In this gamne we out played themt by a wide margin but couldn't put the puck behind Matt McGill who played a spectacular game for Manvers in goal. Brian Goodwin unassisted and Blaine Souch fîom Todd Therteil and Doug Bedford spoiled Matts otherwise brilliant effort. On Thuîsday, Match 18, 1982 we traveiled to Newcas- tle to take on or neîghbouîs to the south comning away on the short end of a 3-2 score. Ted Gaudet provided the on- ly Orono fire power notching both goals the first from An- thony Webb and the 2nd. from BMaine Souch and Brian Rodd. The team showed flashes of brilliance at times in this gaine as we outplayed the opposiion but somne slop- py play eventually led to our downfall. Following- our victor-y over Manvers on Saturdny night the Tennant Fuels Fathers challeniged their sons to a hockey game the out- comne of which is stili undecided. The coaches hnd tried to stnck the cards in favour of the fathers by mnak- ing the preceding gaine aginst Manvers five minutes longer than regulations. Howeveî, most fathers found out afteî the first shift that their skating nbilîty was no match for their speedy off- spring. Mi. The first period saw Oshawa open the scoring after only 0:45 seconds on a goal by Laird Harrison on a screen shot from the point. Orono kept penalties spent Most o1 the game in the penalty box being called for holding speedy Brian Rodd. Mr. Thertell also did not live up to expec- tations as he did not show the hustle and passing skills he has been on the boys about all season. Mr. Sruch played the stîongest game for the fathers putting several puicks behind Guy LaCroix who plnyed goal for the boys. He reininded me of Rocket Richard before he dîscovered Grecian Formula. Mr. Webb caine no where near matching his son Anthony's perfor- mance in fact he has n long way to go. Other major disappointinents were: Mr. Bailey after he missed a sure goal having been set up by his son Shawn Who had played for the fathers and kept them in the game. Mr. Rodd Who lacks the hustle of hîs son Briaan. Mr. Goodmuîphy who 1 suggest should leave the goaltending to Mike.
