Developments listedý by Mayor Rickard At a recent meeting of council Mayor Rickard presented a report outlining' development in the Town of Newcastle during the first six months of 1982. He said this development compared favourably with other centres and ini most cases was above that of other such centres in the area. The Mayor of Newcastle stated that new construction in Newcastle for the first six mnonths of 1982 amounted to $11 million with permits be- îng issued for 35 new residen- tial one-family homes. He pointed out that there were 76 permnits for residential dwellings issued in the twelve months of 1981 and that value of permits issued in 1981 amounted to $93.55 million. He did point out that although there has been 35 events in, the Town this month. His report also included the satisfactory agreement reached in the approval of the 117 unit aparrment develop- ment in the south of Bowmànville and he expects the go-ahead to be a fact for the Forester's Senior Citizen complex in Bowmanville.
