International -Centre Sept. 10,11,12, 1982 The hunters of Ontario, and the industry which caters ta their needs, will put their tradition proudly on display at the 1982 Hunting Show, Sept. 10, 11, and 12, at the International Centre in Mississauga. The show will cover' vir- tually every aspect of the bunting tradition, with hands-on activities and demonstrations as its key elements. It will also feature one of the largest displays of supplies for the hunter ever assembled under one roof in Canada, including firearms, bows and apparel. Among the highllghts of the three-day show are the Maison Canadian Open Moose, Goose and Duck- Calling Championships, a sporting-dog demonstration area, featuring the training and handling of almost every major hunting dog breed, and a hawk and eagle exhibi- tion by a master falconer. To accomfmodate the hands-on activity theme, there are ranges for archery, crossbow, slingshot and air rifle shooting under the guidance of expert instruc- tors. For the juniors, there are archery contests, decoy- head whittling and air rifle shooting, ail at no extra charge. As well, many of the pro- vince's Ieading conservation clubs will be manning infor- mation displays that deal with such things as safe-gun handling, wildlife habitat The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ontario Provincial Police will also be in attendance, giving hunters an opportunity to clarify firearms and hunting regula- tions with the government agencies involved. For trap- pers, the Hudson's Bay Fur Centre will be hosting workshops to upgrade their fur-handling skills. The 1982 Hunting Show is being sponsored by Ontario OUT 0F DOORS Magazine, in conjunction with the On- tario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Inc., ta enter- tain and inform the hunting sportsmen of Ontario. The International Centre is located on Airport Road, one mile north of the Toronto In- ternational Airport. Show hours: Friday, Sept. 10 -1 pmn., Saturday, Sept. 11-10 a. m. to 10Op. m., and Sunday, Sept. 12-10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission: Adults $4.00, Children under 12 $2.00. Parking is free. season Trevor Lomox, who moved from Orono on September 1, led the team to a 3-1 victory. He scored, the first goal and made his final game a memorable one by dribbling consistently through the entire Bowman- ville teamn. Craig Nemnis and Jîmi Partner contributed the other twio Orono goals on set- ups from Cameron Esler and Scott McAllister. Laura Abrams was again our most aggressive player and shrugg- ed off a serious leg injury in the second hall to continue. On Sept. 1 Orono opened the playoffs at Pine Ridge School with a 5-3 win. Our halfbacks stood out in this game wth Scott McAllister scoring three and Jirn Partnier and Cameron Esler counting the other two. Everyone played strongly in the first haîf with special mention go- ing to Kevin Morton, Todd Graves, Cameron Tomkins, Ryan Tomlinson, Stephen Shelter, and Graint Tomkîns. Dwayne Morton played well on defense and Scott Hall had a strong gamne in goal. . . ........ . . ....
