Milbrook opened tbe scoring seconds into the first period. Richie Dupe tied it up at the end of the period assisted by Peter Armstrong and 'Paul Henry. Millbrook domninated the second period scoring 3 goals before Jirn Wood put one in on a pass frorn David LaFrance and Rod Storsbergen. Paul Henry scored unassisted at the beginning of the third period, then Brad Roberts put one in assisted by Scott McCullough and Blaine Bruton, to tie the score. Millbrook scored in On Sunday, Decemnber 5th Orano Jade Gardens bosted the Durbam Regional Police witb Jade Garden racking up their second consecutive win by a 7-2 score. AI Hill opened tbe scoring with an assist ta Bob Westbauser at 15:26 of the opening period to give Orono a 1-0 lead. The police came back to tic it at 1-1 witb Jim Souch put Jade Garden up 24 assisted by Jim Wood and Garth Webb. Dave Shetler put Orono up 3-1 again assisted by Jirn Wood and Garth Webb. Jade Garden continued their strong play coupled with ex- cellent goaltending frorn Bob Boumne. Kerry Arnott scored assisted by John Cartwright and Eric Burton to stretch tbe score to 4-1. Garth Webb col- lected bis first of two assisted by Jim Souch and Dave Shetler and then Bob Westbauser assisted by Ron Farrow and Bruce Therteli gave Jade Garden a 6-1 lead. Garth Webb made it 7-1 on a goal assisted by Dave Sbetler and Jim Soucb. Durhamn Police finally responded witb a goal to make it a 7-2 final score. Win and a tie for the Oddfel low's PeeWees- On Friday, Dec. 3rd Orono played bost to Manvers. Orono put forth a great team effort and won the game 6-1. Opening the scoring for Orono was Goran Zager witb assiste going ta Derek Zander and Rab Wagenaar. Orono made it 3-0 in the second pcriod with goals by Brent Stapleton and Derek Zander, assiste gaing to Laurens Kaldeway and Goran Zager. In the third period Manvers Randy Gaynor scored their only goal unassisted. Orono added three more goals ta make the score 6-1. Goals went t'o T.R. Pollitt unassisted and 2 unassisted goals frorn Derek Zander. This was Derek Zander's se- cond hat trick. Good work Derek! On Saturday, Dec. 4th Orono travelled to Millbrook for an exciting gaine that end- ed in a 2-2 tie. Millbrook opened the scoring in the first period with an unassisted goal fromn Dwayne Lush. Orono's Brent Stapleton made it 1-1 in the second period assisted by Laurens Kaldeway. But again Millbrook went in front witb a goal frorn Drew Hoard assistcd by Dwayne Lusb and Scott McDowell. Orona didn'tgive up and made it a 2-2 tic witb a goal frorn Goran Zager assisted by Derek Zander. Keep up tbe great teamn work! Roughley Novice has 4 2 ties, 7 [oses The Orono Novice Team is playing in a Icague witb Manvers, Millbrook, Lindsay and Orneree. It was quite evident after having played each team several times that the Orono boys, had their work cut out foý thern this season. The tcarn bas a record of 4 wins 2 tics and 7 losses. Three of the wins were shutouts and tbree of the losses were only by one goal. The tearn bas scored 45 goals and bas allowed 55. The boys play their home garnes on Friday night at 6-30. Next gamne Dec. ltb at home against Manvers. It the empty net at the 2 mark to give Orono their first loss of the season of 6-4. On December 4th and 5th Orono travelled to En- nismore for a tournament. Their first game was against Newcastle, whicb tbey won 1-0 on asecond period goal by Peter Armstrong frorn Paul Henry and Rod Storsbergen. Allan Hall got. Most Valuable Player for bis well deserved shutout. Orono's second. gamne was against a very strong En- nismore tearn. Ennismnore dominated the game scoring 7 rs goals before Paul Henry put one in in the 3rd period assisted by David Little. David LaFrance came right back with another goal on a pass front Jim Wood and David Little but Ennismore scored once more -for a final score of 8-2. David Little was Most Valuable Player. On Sunday, Orono beat Campbellford 5-4 to win the Consolation Tropby. The goals were scored by: Brad Roberts 2, Paul Henry 1, Jim Wood 1 and David LaFrance 1.- Assists went to: Scott Me- Cullough 2, Blaine Bruton 2, Darren Lewis 1, David LaFrance 1, Scott Greenfield 1, David Little 1 and Paul Henry 1. Paul was Most Valuable Player. Tennant Fuel Atomns take two league wins The Francis Tennant Fuels sponsored Atoms had a busy weekend of hockey. Tbey travelled to Darington Arena on Saturday afternoon to play Stew Tripps Major Toros. The Toros were a littie stronger than the Fuclers tak- ing the garne by a score of 9 to 4. Bowmanvîlle scored two goals in the first period before Orono could get on the board. Todd Gray blasted one in from Anthony Webb to finish the third period. The Fuelers tied the gaine up briefly, on a beautiful play by Anthiony Webb, Brian Rodd and Kevin Roberts. Bowman- ville added two more when Anthony again slipped one by the goalie on bis stick side. Assisting on the play was Kevin and Brian again. Bowmanville then slipped four more by goalie Sbawn Hardy wbo was playing wieil Atoms Trade Wins On Nov. 27 Orono Atorns travelled to Omemee defeating them 3-1. The first period remained scoreless witb lots of end to end ac- tion. Andy Rorabeck put Orono on the board at the 9:26 mark with assists going ta Kevan Roy and Sean Win- ning. Omernee's Mike Collins assisted by John Linlon and Je nnifer Suggitt to tie the gaine. Steven Vanderschee score unassisted for Orono ta take the lead. Kevan Roy assisted by Terry Eames and Sean Winning in the third. The boys played a great gaine getting those rebounds. Keep up the good work boys. Trl-County Orono Atorns bosted Orneree on borne ice December 3rd to bedefeated, 3-1, The first period remained scoreless. Orono baving lots of scoring chances but just not being able to put the puck between the pipes. Orneree scored late in the second to take the led 1-0. Ornee's Mike McQuade scored two goals in the third. At the 2:39 mark Orono's Steve Vanderschee assisted by Shawn Hardy and Jason Ma- jor. Bantams'Trade Wins Dec. 1 Orono Kinsmen Bain- tains Dec. 1, Orona Kinsmnen Bantarne travelled to Fenlon- Falls defeating them 6-3. Darren Dennis put Orono on the board early in the first period assisted by Kevin Hartwig. Russell Sullivan scoring unassisted to take the lead 2-0 end of the first Fenelon scored. Then Kevin Hartwig assisted by Robert Jeromne. Russell Sullivan assisted by Kevin Hartwig, Mark Sargent scored unassisted. Then Fenelon Falls scored two quick goals 5-3. John Cowan scored late in the third unassisted. Goad gaine. Keep up the team work. Dec. 3 Orono Kinsunen Blan- tams Orono bosted Fenelon Falls defeating thern 6-0. Robert Snoek scored assisted by Kevin Hartwig. Steve Lycett assisted by Tirn Mercer. Wayne Atkins scored assisted by Brin Souch and Russell Sullivan at the end of the first period. The weekly borne game was against Manvers who are always tougb. The first period saw both teams trade goals back and forth. An- thony Webb scored the first goal on an unassisted rush. Antbony got tbe next goal tbis time deking the goalie beautiful on bis stick side passed up by Brian Rodd. Manvers took the lead in the second frarne adding two to their score, beating goalie Mike Goodmnurpby with bard high shots. Anthony notches a bat trick. Early in tbe third period, he did wbat be does best, deking the goalie out of bis pads, slipping it by on a pass from Todd Gray. Then David Sheridan tied it up by hustling in for a rebound by Brent Osmnond. Todd Gray gave the Fuelers tbe go ahead ripping it in the top corner, working well witb line-mates Anthony Webb and Blaine Souch. Todd also got the in- surance goal this one again from Anthony and BMaine. Tbis gave Orono the win by a score'of 6 to 4. The boys travelled to Ops for a Sunday afternoon game and came out with an easy win. The boys worked well, witb two regulars away, and M&H'Ins. PeeWees, 20-1 over Manvers On Wednesday, Dec. 1, the Mattbews and HillI ms. O.M.H.A. Peewees travelled to Manvers and cornpletely overpoweredthern by a 20-1 score. The local boys corn- plctely dominated their op- position botb affensively and defensively. Orono 3 Mibrook 2 On Monday, Dec. 6 the Mattbews and Hill Ins. O.M.H.A. Peewees kept their drive for first place alive witb a bard fougbt win over Mfillbrook by a 3-2 score. Darren Mercer up from the Tri-C Atoms. The first period saw no scoring as both goalies kicked out everything. With the second period started Jason Major opened < the scoring lifting one bigh in the corner unassisted. Blaine Souch made some fine inoves before scoring on a pass from Brent Osmond and David Sheridan. Blaine did it again this time from Todd Gray and Jason Burnham. David Sheridan notcbed the fourth goal slippîng in a rebound from Jason Burnhamn and Todd Gray. Anthony Webb blasted one into- the corner passed ahead by Darren Mercer, before Ops got their lone goal. Brian Rodd got hot for two quick goals. The first one was scored on a scramble in front of the net passed along, by Anthony Webb. Then Brian took his time finding the cor- ner nicely on a nice passing play with Anthony Webb and Jason Major. David Sheridan got bis second of the gaine. This one frorn Blaine Souch and Jeff Hartwig. Then Jason Major banged ini bis se- cond of the night from An- thony Webb. Blaine Souch connects for a bat trick. Hustling all nig.bt and passing well witb bis line-mates Jason Burnbamn and Todd Gray finisbed tbe scoring and tbe garne Orono 10 to Ops 1. Mike Goodmurpby proved the best in tbe goal tenders battle as he made many key saves in the second and tbird period . Well Done Boys.
