Three area schools had students, and pupils marching in the parade. These were: The Pines, Senior Public School, Kirby Public School and Orono/Lockhart Public School. Displays of pupils' work were put ul? Wednesday afternoon by these schools: Vincent Massey Public School, 'The Pines Senior Public School, Hampton Junior Public School, Lord Elgin Public School, Kirby Centennial Public School, Ontario Street Public School, St. Francis of Assisis Separate School, North Hope, Central Public 'School and Maple Grove Public Sehool. After the parade, prizes were awarded for Floats entered. In the motorized float division, first prize went to, the Orono/Lockhart entry "School Days", second prize went to Kîrby for their "Pioneers" entry. In the non-motorized category, first prize went to the "Pirates" Brian Hogenhout, Diane and Danielle Boremans, second prize went to -Cabbage Patch" - Leah Lockhart, third pize went to "Caravan" - Brian and Mark Langley. Prizes for decorated bikes were awarded to these pupils, out of about 100 entries.
