As I reachcd 'an intersection a hedge sprang up obscurring mny vision. 1 dld not sec thse other car. * 1 had becn driving my car for forty ycars whcn I felI asleep at thc wheel and had the accident. *The accident occurrcd when 1 was attemptig to br- ing my car out of skid by stecring it into the other vehi- cie. * I had been learning to drive with power steering; I turned thse vheet to what I thought was enough and found myseif in a différent direction going the opposite way. * 1 was backîng my car out of the driveway in the usual manner, when it was struck by thse other car in the saine place it had been struck several times before. * 1 was on my way to thse doctor's with rear end trouble when the universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident. *As I approached thse in- tersection, a stop sign sud- denly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. 1 was unable to stop in lime t, avoid the accident. * To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front of me, 1 hit the pedestrian. * 1 told the police 1 was flot injured, but on removing my hat found I had a fractured skull. * 1 was sure the oîd fella would neyer make it to the other side of the roadway when I struck hlm. # The pedestrian had no idea which direction to go, so I rau over him. * The indirect cause of the accident was a ittle guy ini a smail car with a big mouth. * saw the slow-moving, sad-faced, old gentleman as lie bounced off the hood of my car. * 1 was thrown from my car as it left the road. 1 was later found i a ditch by some stray cows. * The accident happenied whcn the right front door of a car came around the corner without giving signal. * The telephone pole- was approaching fast. 1 was at- tempting to swerve out of its way when it struck my front end. * No one was to blame for the accident but it, neyer would have happened if the other driver 1ad been alert. * 1 was unable to stop in time and my car crashed into the other vehicle. The driver and passengers then left im- mediately for a vacation with injuries. * 1 collided with a sta- tionary truck coming the other way. * My car was legally parked a-~ it backed into the other vehicle. We are now pleased to report that by this first anniversary, through the generosity of maniy and varied contributors, aur minimum financial objective has been achieved. Based on this encouraging level of success, the Holspital Board plans to intiate the required site development work on the property as soon as possible but no later than spring of 1986.
